Giving plants a second chance.
We like to re-home plants that are typically thrown away when a house is demolished and the block is cleared. We believe healthy plants deserve to be given a second chance.
Help maintain local biodiversity.
Ku-ring-gai is known for its beautiful gardens and historic houses, and like many suburbs of Sydney, itβs also undergoing enormous change through development. At Plant Rescue, weβre working to salvage some of our unique garden heritage. We go to development sites before the bulldozers move in, assess the site to see what is saveable and re-home the plants into local schools, public spaces and to local residents.
How do we rescue plants?
We visit your site, find our which plants are good candidates for saving and rescue as many as we can. There is no cost to owners or developers.
What do we do with them?
We pot them up and look after them until they begin to grow and recover. Once weβre sure they are in good condition and disease-free, we give the plants away to residents to plant in their own gardens or keep in pots on balconies. We also arrange for plants to be donated to school gardens.

We also extend our respects to Elders and members of the Darug nation, and extend that respect to all Indigenous people who may be reading this page.
